Chief William ANDERSON was the Chief of the Delaware Tribe, Turkey Clan in March of 1806 after Tribal Chief Tetepachsit. William was married to Ahkechlungunagua, English name was Mary KETCHUM, who died in June 1805.
Chief ANDERSON was very influential in signing of many famous treadies with the US and was well respected in warfare. Many books and articles have been written on him. Anderson, Indiana was named after him.
Chief ANDERSON died at his home on the Delaware reserve, present Wyandotte County, Kansas. His death occurred after Sept 22nd,on which he dated a letter in which he mentioned his four sons.
