     NEW YORK ILLUSTRATED NEWS #328 illustrated newspaper, dated May 10, 1894. COMPLETE in 16 pgs, folio (15 1/4" x 11"). Featured in this issue is the illustrated article “JACK THE RIPPER’ IN LUCK—MURDER CHARGES NOT PROVED AGAINST HENDRIK DE JONG” containing bust portraits of De Jong, along with victims Maria Schmitz and Anna Juett. A sample of the article reads, “The trial of Hendrik de Jong, called the Dutch ‘Jack the Ripper’ who was charged with murdering Miss Juett, a young Englishwoman, and a Dutch girl named Maria Schmitz, with both of whom he went through the ceremony of marriage, ended April 20 at Amsterdam, Holland…Hendrik De Jong, called the Dutch ‘Jack the Ripper,’ and believed by some to be the original Ripper of Whitechapel fame, is a mincing, vain, monkey-like creature, and has had a most varied life, although he is still a young man.
